Greetings and Welcome to Grahame New Zealand Photographix.
So who is this critter called Grahame I can hear you thinking.

I tackled my first commercial photo shoot in 1975 with a mighty Pentax Spotmatic and before that I’d become farmiliar with black and white darkroom processes.
Over the following years I worked as a Photo Archivist, Photographers Assistant and shot commercial and natural history work.

A period of photographic inactivity followed due to disillusionment with the pretence that surrounds the commercial world and an inability to transfer the world the way I saw it onto pieces of paper.
I was certinaly no Ansel Adams.
Basically I was sick of Cameras, Studios and Darkrooms……………

Then I discovered Photoshop and the light went on.
Digital cameras and computers were barely past the stone age at that time but I could see the future.
That was Photoshop 5 a mighty 686 and 2 mega pixel camera.
It took forever to make an image that looked like crap !! but just having the ability to bend pixels the way I wanted them to be was enough to justify the wait………….and…………..It could be done in the light with no Darkroom smell, Whoopeeee !!

That was quite a few years ago now and my style has gone through many changes.
Starting from trying to make my images look like I used to create with film cameras………exactly what I had run away from……..talk about Duh !!!
Through to it’s present form which I call Photographix, Photography with a strong graphix / illustrative element.
I’ve never been able to draw / paint, even stick figures pose a problem. But now combining all the modern pixel bending tools available I can create images that more acurately represent my view of the world Gaia presents to us.

Hopefully you will appreciate some of them as well.

You will probably have noticed that my images are not watermarked.
I can’t see the point in defaceing a lovingly crafted image with a big piece of digital poo !!!
